Many of the earliest Scots-Irish immigrants (of the 1720s and 1730s) first settled in Pennsylvania. The original settling of the Lexington area was organized in 1737 by Benjamin Borden. How did the colony of Virginia make a living? Scholarly estimate is that over 200,000 Scotch-Irish migrated to the Americas between 1717 and 1775.
