WebAug 1, 2024 · Do you notice the bubbles right after a water change? If so, then it is the water itself. Colder water traps more gas, which is then released by our tank set ups. These small bubbles can on rare occasion get trapped in the gills and lead to fish death. It's a bit like someone taking a syringe to push air into our own veins. WebFeb 7, 2024 · The bubbles are probably due to organic oils. If a tank doesn't have a lot of surface agitation a film will kinda develop on the top made of different oils and organic compounds and such. I'm assuming you have adequate surface agitation and that's why you only have a small amount of bubbles that have formed.

Do a partial water change no larger than 30%. If you still see foam, wait another day or so for the parameters to level out, and then perform another partial water change.
