Before version 1.13, users lacked monitoring methods for the performance of state-related operators, and there was no good way to learn about the latency of state read and write operations. The state latency tracking has been introduced. WebFlink will subtract some memory for the JVM’s own memory requirements (metaspace and others), and divide and configure the rest automatically between its components (JVM Heap, Off-Heap, for Task Managers also network, managed memory etc.).
