The data suggests two main findings. WebCentral Asian women were immediately treated as a symbol of liberation and were fetishized for their “exotic” beauty. Even in central Asian communities, women’s appearances were being treated as a form of national identity where people juggled the choice between the traditional narrative of beauty and the emerging western standards.
